Eventually, did anything happen to the state police involved, beside a promotion of O’Donnell?

Anne, all that happened to the state police involved in the cover-up is that they retired with their very comfortable retirement plans. As far as the authorities were concerned they did a bang-up job. It's only lately that the federal courts have found them guilty of serious official misconduct.

What’s your feeling about anything happening at this late date? Makes me sick that we entrust so much to the state police and something like this happens.

What seems clear is that no one in a position of authority in Oregon, in politics or law enforcement, has any intention of pursuing what is now officially an open murder case. The people in control now are the political descendants of those who managed the initial cover-up.

What a sad commentary on Oregon.

Kevin's dream gave me chills. Did Michael have any friends among the Oregon State Police? They are all over this crime it seems to me.

Jennifer, if he did they'd surely have come forward by now.

Yes, a true friend would have come forward by now, like Kevin did right away. I was thinking more in terms of Kevin's dream. Not to go off on a tangent, but many people believe that we can find out information in some of our dreams - is that better or worse or the same as believing in psychics? 😊. Anyway, in the dream Kevin said Michael said he trusted someone he should not have trusted. Obviously he didn't trust McAlister, Caully or Peterson, so it had to be someone else involved with his job, someone who gained his confidence such that Michael told that person of his findings of corruption and criminality, and that person helped set him up to be assassinated and his papers and computer stolen at the same time. It certainly wasn't Elyse Clawson. It had to be someone in DOJ, Oregon police, or perhaps an elected official/politician. I think getting the computer and briefcase were as important as taking Michael out, to completely hide any evidence of his findings. Something happened that made them have to go after someone like Frank to blame it on and I think that was Natividad's unexpected death. It was always going to be a cover up (shredding Michael's documents within days for example), but it had to change. I wonder what the cover up would have looked like if Natividad had lived longer. I think he was always going to be the one they were going to pin it all on (maybe kill him by a police shootout) but his early demise changed that so they had to find someone else. Listening to Kevin's dream could help figure out if Michael did confide in someone he shouldn't have, and that person might be found.

Yep......welcome to Oregon....... I would think this is one of the oldest unsolved murder cases in Oregon....especially one of a prominent official. If this was television, there would be a squad of Cold Case Detectives all over this case. However, since the descendants of the foxes are still infiltrated in the henhouse......that ain't happening.
